JOHNNY STEWART INDUCTED INTO THE JAMES L. PETIGRU AMERICAN INN OF COURT





CHARLESTON, SC – Clawson and Staubes attorney, Johnny Stewart, was inducted into the James L. Petigru American Inn of Court on August 25, 2017.

The Petigru Inn is comprised of judges, lawyers and law students from the Charleston area and meets in Charleston six times throughout the academic year. Each year, approximatately twelve students from the Charleston School of Law are invited into membership based on their demonstrated leadership, professionalism, public service and academic commitment. Stewart was one of the invited members this year.

The goal of the Petigru Inn is to provide an atmosphere that fosters collegiatelity among practicing lawyers and judges, as well as to provide a means of educating our law student members about the legal profession.

“Being inducted into the Petigru Inn is been a great honor,” says Stewart. “I am looking forward to being a part of this selective group, and will continue to demonstrate the leadership that allowed me to be recognized for this honor.”

Stewart is an associate in the Charleston office and practices with the firm’s general litigation team. His practice focuses on civil litigation and insurance defense. Stewart graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2013 where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Then graduated from the Charleston School of Law in 2016. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2016.

While in law school, Ryan served as an Associate Editor and Senior Student Notes and Comments Editor for the Appalachian Natural Resources Law Jo urnal, he was a member of the national moot court team taking best preliminary round advocate at the Pace National Environmental Moot Court Competition, and served as a teaching assistant for appellate advocacy. Ryan was a member of Phi Delta Phi, a legal honor society, and served as a assistant high school soccer and wrestling coach. Ryan further served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Thomas E. Clawson and Staubes Welcomes Brittany Boykin & Kyle Thompson

Clawson and Staubes is pleased to announce that Brittany Boykin and Kyle Thompson have joined the firm.Brittany has joined the Charleston office and Kyle has joined our Greenville office. Brittany has joined the firm’s insurance defense section, where she practices in the areas of personal injury defense and premises liability. She represents insurance companies, individuals, and businesses in South Carolina courts regarding these matters. Kyle practices in the areas of insurance defense, construction law, and commercial litigation. He joins Clawson and Staubes after working in another Greenville firm for eleven years. Kyle focuses primarily on defending lawsuits alleging personal injury and property damage.
